The Koppar Lakshmi Narasimha Temple is unlike any other—here, Lord Narasimha manifests through an Ashwatha Vriksha (sacred fig tree). In the fallen stump of the tree, Saligramas (sacred stones symbolizing Lord Vishnu) and a unique 16-armed idol of Narasimha were discovered. These Saligramas are reverently placed at the base, signifying the profound spiritual energy anchored in the land.

📜History
According to temple lore, this sacred site dates back to the 5th century CE. Sage Karpara, a revered descendant of Sage Bhrigu Maharishi, undertook intense penance (Agora Tapasya) on the banks of the Krishna River. Pleased by his unwavering devotion, Lord Lakshmi Narasimha appeared before him, blessing him with supreme spiritual knowledge and granting divine boons.
The Lord declared that the place would henceforth be known as Karpara Sri Narasimha Kshetra and that it would draw sincere seekers and devotees across generations.
Centuries later, the temple's significance reached the Bijapur Sultan, who—after receiving a divine dream vision from Lord Narasimha—renovated the temple and granted villages for its upkeep. This unique interweaving of devotion, divine revelation, and secular patronage has preserved the sanctity and glory of this holy site.
