The temple complex is home not just to Hanumanji, but also to shrines of Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Shiva, Ganesha, Navagrahas, and Goddess Rajarajeshwari — creating a spiritually complete experience for every visitor. 💫 Importance
This sacred hill is believed to have been formed from a heap of ragi (millet), giving the temple its name — "Ragigudda." The spiritual legacy of the temple is deeply rooted in the Sanatana Dharma. A rare and divine feature of this temple is the Trimurti Sannidhi — magnificent 32-feet tall monolithic sculptures of Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshwara carved into natural rock. These awe-inspiring forms represent the cycle of creation, preservation, and transformation — the very heartbeat of the cosmos.
More than a spiritual landmark, Ragigudda Temple is a cultural and community hub. Through its charitable trust, the temple supports education, healthcare, Goshala (cow shelter), yoga, spiritual discourse, and cultural arts — blending bhakti (devotion) with seva (selfless service).
📜History
Established in the early 1970s, this sacred site has grown from a simple shrine on a rocky hillock into one of Bengaluru’s most revered temples. Legend holds that the Trinity — Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva — chose to reside here, blessing a devout woman for her selfless service. The once-barren hill became sacred, and the temple rose as a living symbol of divine grace.
Over the decades, the Ragigudda Temple Trust has preserved the sanctity while gracefully adapting to modern needs. Be it the peaceful Pushkarini (temple tank), the stunning rock art, or the Vedic rituals — every corner here speaks of timeless heritage and unwavering faith.
