Shri Ambabhavani Mandir in Mamadapur is a divine abode of Devi Jagadamba, surrounded by the serenity of lush green farmlands. Built from majestic black stone, the temple exudes spiritual energy and architectural grace. A towering Deepastambha stands tall in front of the temple, symbolizing the light of devotion that burns eternally here.
Peaceful and spiritually vibrant, the temple offers devotees a deeply immersive experience of Shakti Bhakti. With tranquil surroundings and a sacred aura, it’s an ideal place for introspection, prayer, and surrender to the Mother Goddess.
After Tuljapur in Maharashtra, this shrine is revered as the second most important seat of Ambabhavani worship. It is widely believed that visiting this temple is as spiritually meritorious as receiving darshan at the Tuljabhavani Temple itself.
The temple draws thousands of devotees, especially during Navaratri and Deepotsav, when the entire village resonates with devotional fervor. The temple’s Kiranotsav, when sunlight touches the feet of the deity every year between March 20–25, is considered a miraculous celestial alignment and a divine blessing.
This sacred place holds the unwavering faith of countless devotees who come seeking protection, blessings, and fulfillment from Devi Ambabhavani.
The origin of this sacred shrine is rooted in an extraordinary tale of devotion. A deeply devout man known as "Sarkar" from Nipani, a loyal worshiper of Tulja Bhavani Mata, used to travel to Tuljapur on horseback every Tuesday, Friday, and Amavasya (New Moon Day) to seek blessings from the Goddess.
Impressed by his unwavering devotion, Devi herself appeared before him and declared, “I shall manifest where your devotion lives. Establish my worship at your place.” She added a divine condition: “While I follow you, do not look back. If you do, I will remain where you turn.”
As Sarkar returned, he turned to check if the Goddess was indeed behind him when he reached Mamadapur, near Akkol. In that moment, the Divine Mother transformed into a self-manifested stone idol (Swayambhu) at that very spot.
Thus, the temple was founded at Mamadapur, where worship continues to this day. Over the years, a magnificent temple was constructed, now visited by thousands seeking the eternal blessings of Ambabhavani.
